OUR STORY
Because every outfit has a dope story to tell !
I’ve always carried a creative soul inside me. The kind that refuses to sit still, the kind that pulls you toward colors, textures, stories, and places far from home. As a self-taught artist, I explored every corner of creativity I could find, and eventually the world itself. But through all my travels, one dream kept following me:
creating clothing with a meaning.
The seed of CHICOS LOCOS was planted unexpectedly, on a warm January morning in 2020, on the beaches of Mazunte, Mexico.
The world was shutting down, borders were closing, everything felt uncertain…
Yet in that chaos, something inside me became clearer than ever.
A name & a feeling: CHICOS LOCOS.
And once it appeared, it never left.
I returned to Bali, my second home, & reconnected with the tailor who had once helped bring my ideas to life. She loved the vision, but life had taken her on a different path. She couldn’t join this new chapter.
For a moment, I stood in front of a crossroads. I could turn to factories, compromise, or force something that didn’t feel right.
Or… I could start again.
So with the support of my partner, ¬ without challenges, we left Bali behind and committed fully to finding a team that shared our values. It meant uncertainty. It meant beginning from zero. It meant trusting the journey.
And the journey took us to Portugal.
After weeks of calls, travels, and meetings, we finally found the people who felt like family. A small, dedicated team, working with passion, intention, and craft. People who care. People who understand that clothing is more than fabric, it’s energy, identity, & legacy.
Today, they help us create high-quality, limited edition pieces designed to last, to feel good, & to carry a story. We also work with our leftover fabrics, transforming them into unique upcycled pieces, reducing waste and giving materials a second life.
Because CHICOS LOCOS was never meant to be “just a brand.”
It’s proof that it’s never too late to make a 180° turn.
To rebuild from nothing.
To follow a feeling.
To trust your own kind of crazy.
CHICOS LOCOS isn’t only clothing.
It’s a lifestyle. Jill
